In Loving Memory: Barbara Catherine Jackson

Barbara Catherine JacksonBarbara Catherine Jackson

In Jackson, MS, my mom was 40 years old when she died of colon cancer, I was only 18. I watched her suffer for years – taking her to chemo and radiation and taking care of her at home from the day I graduated high school, June 1975 until the day she went to heaven, April 23, 1976. My dad made several trips to MD Anderson with her while me and my 3 siblings stayed home. She never complained or said “why me?”. She is my inspiration and she and God are who I get my strength from everyday.
