I had the pleasure of meeting Annie in October 2007, when I first started working with ContinuCare Home Health. She had just been diagnosed and had taken a leave of absence. When chemo was over she couldn’t wait to get back to work, including being my mother’s skilled nurse, so I got to know her nursing skills intimately. She soon moved into the office and we became friends and she became my second mom. She was the tough love mom I needed with the spirtual kick to guide me correctly. My heart, soul and mind were touched with her love and saddened with her passing. Annie worked to the end, February 2011, and never let anyone know the pain and discomfort she was in until her body could no longer take it. In the end when she could no longer read the word of God, she asked others to read to her.

Annie could make you smile when you wanted to cry and she could see the good in everyone. She gave the best hugs. Her passion was to always give, whether it be time, items, umbrellas, the word – you name it – she was always there to lend a hand
