It’s almost officially Colon Cancer Awareness Month!!! You know what that means? It’s time to go #BlueForCRC!
Blue for CRC is a nationally and internationally recognized movement that raises awareness of colorectal cancer through “Going blue” in various ways to spark conversation and encourage people to get screened.
Awareness is an important part of combating colorectal cancer as 1 in 3 estimated adults in the U.S. are not being screened for CRC as recommended by their doctors. Unfortunately, there’s a stigma when it comes to talking about colon and rectal health, including bathroom habits, which are important ways to learn about what is and isn’t healthy– imperative information for understanding your body and taking charge of your health!
When caught early, colorectal cancer has a 90% survival rate!
By wearing an article of blue clothing, making a small blue ribbon pin and attaching it to your shirt or bag, turning your porch light or LED lights in your house blue, or posting on social media encouraging people to #GoBlue– you are helping spread awareness!
The Colon Cancer Coalition is encouraging everyone to #GoBlue all month long, tagging the Colon Cancer Coalition and using the hashtags #GoBlue and #BlueForCRC. We also encourage you to participate in #DressInBlueDay with us on March 7th!
We hope to see you #GoBlue with us this year!
