We are honored to be recognized by the American College of Gastroenterology for the “Get Screened MN” campaign. The 2021 Scopy Award recognized this campaign with the BEST MULIT-CHANNEL MEDIA CAMPAIGN FEATURING SURVIVOR STORIES.
This screening effort is a collaboration between our organization, Minnesota Oncology, MNGI Digestive Health, and Colon & Rectal Surgery Associates (CRSAL). The goal is to encourage Minnesotans to resume colorectal cancer screenings. The :30 radio and television spots feature three colorectal cancer survivors, sharing their patient status and encouraging Minnesotans to stop putting off their cancer screening appointments after the COVID-19 health care delays and shortages.
The PSAs direct the public to a landing page and read the stories of the three featured patients, learn more about when to start screening and the screening options for colorectal cancer. The site also includes links to the partner websites for screening and treatment options for colorectal cancer in Minnesota.
In addition to the radio, television, and website, all partners have shared the campaign through their social media channels.
The four organizations were led by Nemer Fieger, a Minneapolis PR & Marketing agency to develop the concept, script, and execution of the campaign. The agency’s media team secured placement for the spot. This is a true public service announcement, in that there has been no media cost for the placement of the ad, but the spot ran on radio and television stations in PSA rotation throughout the spring and summer of 2021. The campaign has no end date and will continue to be available.
