We Want You for a Colonoscopy Hesitancy Survey

We’re conducting a survey about colonoscopies, both the good and the bad, and why people may put them off. We want to hear from YOU!

We know colonoscopies can be uncomfortable for a lot of reasons. Unlike other cancer screening procedures, such as mammograms and skin exams, colonoscopies are invasive, require time off work for the prep and procedure, and can be embarrassing to talk about.

While other non-invasive screening options are available for colorectal cancer, such as virtual colonoscopies and take-home stool-based tests, the colonoscopy remains the gold standard for colorectal cancer screening and the removal of polyps to prevent cancer.

With colorectal cancer on the rise in young adults and on track to becoming the #1 cause of cancer-related deaths for adults under 50 by 2030, now it’s more important than ever to get screened on time.

This survey is open to everyone over the age of majority. Whether you have had a colonoscopy or not, we want to know why you’re hesitant to get a colonoscopy, or if you experienced any barriers to receiving your colonoscopy. Be it cost, unable to start or complete the required bowel prep, or other worries, we want to hear them!

Your experiences are vital to improving access to lifesaving cancer screening. This is your opportunity to share your experience and influence how colonoscopies are talked about. Your feedback may help save lives. By making every step of a colonoscopy easier, we can get more people screened.

Here’s what you can do to help:

This survey is anonymous. Meaning we won’t collect your name, or any identifying information except for age, gender and racial demographics. These details will not be used to identify you as a person but will be used to help us inform the health care community what patients think about and worry about when it comes to colorectal cancer screening.

And we need to say a big thanks to Braintree, a part of Sebela Pharmaceuticals for their support and partnership in this effort!
