My mom was a devoted wife of 54 years, mother of seven children and grandmother of 10 beautiful grandchildren.
She loved cooking, baking, gardening and serving others. She loved to travel and most of all she loved spending time with her family. She loved counted cross stitch and created a special baptism quilt for each of her 10 grandchildren.
She taught Sunday school, confirmation, was very involved in Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and committed to serving her Lord in the church. She was the most forgiving and loving person I have ever known.
She has taught me that there are many blessings in serving others. She found joy in making meals for church, for guests in her home or anyone in need. She would stop anything she was doing to take the time to listen and spend time with you. Certainly one of her greatest joys was being with her grandchildren. We were so blessed to have her in our lives but we miss her immensely. We take comfort in knowing that she is cancer free in heaven. We look forward to the day we can rejoice with her again with our dear heavenly father.
Thank you for sharing the story of your mother.
