Glenda Patrice Bauer was born to Nestor and Iris Johnson in Cloquet, MN on June 11th, 1953. She grew up in Mahtowa with her five siblings, Mary Raye, Marcia, Mickie, Mike and Neil. She graduated from Barnum High School as valedictorian. She was homecoming queen, and participated in cheerleading, student government, yearbook, and band.
Glenda went on to get her teaching degree at the University of MN and her masters at the University of St. Thomas. She married the love of her life, Doug Bauer, on August 2nd 1975. She was a wonderful mother to her two daughters Mari and Brynn and a great friend to everyone she met. She influenced many throughout her thirty two years of teaching, first at Columbus Elementary in Forrest Lake, then at Greenleaf and Shannon Park Elementary in Apple Valley and Rosemount. She enjoyed playing piano and singing as well as sewing, reading and traveling with her family.
She was always strong in her faith and inspired many throughout her courageous battle with cancer. She will always be in our hearts.
