Karl Leonards and his Godchild/niece, Abigail of Crowley, LA
Karl was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer on October 31, 2011 and passed away on December 12, 2011.
Karl was a loving son, brother, uncle, godfather, and friend. He proudly wore the colors purple and gold of LSU. His friends nicknamed him “Smiles”. Karl was a very humble man who was quiet in spirit, but the words he spoke were wise and sincere.
Karl was a scientist for the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources. He loved reading books, spending quality time with his family and friends. Karl had three nieces and three nephews who he adored and was absolutely adored by them. Karl was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone one of his friends. He loved supporting LSU, and was active with his co-ed beach volleyball team.
Karl was like a second father to my kids. They looked up to him…. Not many kids can say they have two dads like this…since their dad and Karl were twins.
