Tis the season of giving and we are asking for your help to spread the message of Why Get Screened to the masses.
On Thanksgiving Eve just four years ago, Sarah’s world was rocked and forever changed. With a toddler at home and her oldest showing off his hand-shaped turkey from preschool, Sarah was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. Today Sarah is thankful to be living and enjoying all life has to offer. She is thankful for the nearly 70 rounds of chemotherapy that have been working to keep the cancer at bay. She is thankful she will be here to see her youngest start kindergarten.
When Allison heard “it’s colon cancer” at just 32-years-old, she was determined that the stage II diagnosis and resulting ostomy wouldn’t stop her from catching the the next wave. Today she’s proud to call herself a survivor and is living life to the fullest.
With a gift to the Colon Cancer Coalition you can help others live like Allison & Sarah. Your gift will help educate about the signs and symptoms of colorectal cancer so it can be caught early or even prevented through screening.

So why give to the Colon Cancer Coalition?
- In the past year alone the Colon Cancer Coalition has dedicated nearly $1 million to increasing screening rates, preventing colon cancer, and providing patient support in the nearly 50 communities where we host a Get Your Rear in Gear® or Tour de Tush™ event.
- We need your help to expand our reach and bring colorectal cancer screening to states that need it the most, including those with some of the highest rates for colon cancer deaths, but also the lowest rates for screening.
- Your Gift to the Colon Cancer Coalition can help us spread the word about signs and symptoms, encouraging all to get the screening appropriate for them (see screening options).
- While many organizations are focused on clinical research and treatment, we are focused on preventing disease be encouraging screening and working to make screening available for all.
- As a signer of the 80% by 2018 pledge and a member of the Never Too Young Coalition we dedicate our time, efforts, and dollars to helping people of all ages know the symptoms, their family history and be screened.
Help us make sure people like Sarah and Allison don’t miss life’s important moments because of colon cancer.
