Faces of Blue: Jodi Lee Ellsworth

Faces of Blue: Jodi Lee- caregiver

My daughter Erin Lee Garvey was born on a Monday, November 9th, 1981 at 10:08 p.m. Her father and I loved her every day since!

Faces of Blue: Jodi Lee- caregiverI had Erin two days before my 16th birthday, and her father was 19. When Erin was 31-years-old, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer with liver mets.

The day Erin found out was the day my grief started! Erin moved in with me, as her father and I had been divorced for some time, but we both cared for our Erin.

I was her primary caretaker at the time of her diagnosis, as I was currently laid off from my job. We had Erin for twFaces of Blue: Jodi Lee- caregiverenty months after her diagnosis. In that time our lives came full circle with each other! When Erin passed, at age 33, I was the only one in the room with her. I saw her take her first breath, and her last!

All I can say is, I was and am truly forever blessed to be Erin Lee Garvey’s mom!
