Kristin Tabor selected for top volunteer award

By January 9, 2009Volunteers

This year’s top Volunteer Service Award from Wells Fargo will result in a $50,000 grant to the Colon Cancer Coalition, a local nonprofit organization which raises awareness and promotes the need for early screening tests for the disease. Wells Fargo will make the contribution on behalf of team member Kristin Tabor, who founded the coalition to honor the memory of her sister. Tabor is a systems support analyst for Wells Fargo’s Technology Information Group in Minneapolis.

Through the annual Volunteer Service Award program, Wells Fargo team members can
nominate a nonprofit organization or K-12 school where they volunteer to receive up to
$50,000. Awards for Wells Fargo’s Volunteer Service Award Program are given based on
the team members’ dedication to the organization, effectiveness of their work, amount of
personal time volunteered and the value of their work to the community. Wells Fargo team members are encouraged to nominate their co-workers or themselves to recognize the outstanding efforts of the volunteer and the organization.

“We are all extremely proud of our team members’ commitment to volunteering,” said Jon
Campbell, CEO for Wells Fargo’s Minnesota region. “At Wells Fargo, our commitment to
our communities takes many forms, and the Volunteer Service Award is a program that
honors the organizations and team members like Kristen, who give their time and energy to the community.”

In addition to the top award, Holy Trinity High School will receive a $10,000 award on
behalf of Katie Sevcik, an operations and product development manager for Wells Fargo’s Shareowner Services, based in South St. Paul. Twenty-seven other Minnesota team members received $1,000 awards for their volunteer organizations, bringing Wells Fargo’s contribution for the 2008 Volunteer Service Award program in Minnesota to $87,000.

Company-wide, Wells Fargo this year awarded $300,000 to non-profit organizations on
behalf of 161 team members nominated in its 30th-annual Volunteer Service Award
program.
